The glitzy restaurant popular with football stars serving up £1,000 dinners and £60 cocktails

With a menu featuring £60 cocktails, £1,000 fish platters and a £150 steak, it's safe to say MNKY HSE is one of Manchester's most decadent new venues. The restaurant and club space has been causing a stir since opening on Lloyd Street late last year.

The London celebhaunt club opened its first Manchester outpost with the promise of bringing something new to the city's scene in October last year. And it's fast grown a following among the region's rich and famous with its glitzy interiors and opulent menus.

The venue hit the headlines again last month when Manchester City celebrated winning the Premier League with a lavish all-night bash at MNKY HSE. They booked out the entire venue for the team, coaching staff and all their families to party in style.

Their revels started in the restaurant of the basement venue, where star player Erling Haaland, clad in blue silky pyjamas, decided to cook up a storm in the kitchens, dishing up his favourite steak for himself. The cut Erling goes for? Naturally it's the Wagyu Tomahawk weighing in at £150.

That's not the most eye-watering dish on the menu though. The house specials list on the menu features its signature dish as the "MNKY Feast Platter" - a fishy concoction which features caviar, lobster, signature ceviches, oysters, crunchy tacos, sushi and a selection of salads and condiments for a whopping £1,000.

For meat eaters there's also the robata grill selection of chicken, lamp chops and varying steak cuts for £150, or you can go for a large portion of jumbo shrimp for £124.

You can add a bowl of truffle rice for £22 or a corn salad for £13.

Away from the house specials, there is also a range of sharing plates like three crunchy or soft tacos from £14 and fritos from £10. Sushi dishes are priced from £11 to £19.

Inside MNKY HSE (MEN)

MNKY HSE is pronounced "Monkey house", if you're wondering about those missing vowels. A stylised monkey head is the venue's emblem - and it looms large from the moment you walk in through to the darkly decadent interiors of the restaurant space.

There's a bar space too - where the venue's staff specialise in shaking up a range of cocktails. Their "MNKY Masterpieces" start from £14, or if you're pushing the boat out you can choose from the seriously wallet-busting "Creme de La Creme" section.

Here you'll find the "This is Primavera" cocktail featuring Reserva de la Familia tequila, pomegranate and earl grey sake for £35.

Or how about the Magic Cru cocktail - featuring Glenfiddich grand cru, whisk bitters, vermouth and Veuve Clicquout champagne for a jawdropping £60 a glass?

Diners can make themselves comfy in orange leather booths, with lots of green shrubbery dividing up the dining space to give an exotic feel. For those who want to continue the revels, there are velvet curtains and doors through to the MNKY HSE nightclub.

And there the decadence continues. At peak times, minimum spend applies to the booths and tables here of £2,000.

And if you're wondering how on earth you could spend that much on booze, then you only need to look at the drinks packages in here. And if you're wondering how can see the prices in the dark then fear not - the menu magically lights up.

The "Feeling Cheeky" list of packages starts with the Queen of the South at £3,000, which includes a magnum of Belvedere vodka, six bottles of Dom Perignon champagne and one platter of "Monkey Shooters". For those who really want to splash out though, there's the Mexican Cartel package for £5,000.

For that figure you get a giant-sized Jeroboam of Belvedere vodka, four bottles of Ace of Spades rose champagne, one bottle of Don Julio vintage tequila, and two platters of those Monkey shooters.

The restaurant currently only opens for dinner service, from 5pm to 12am on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and from 5pm to 4am on Friday, Saturday and Sundays. The whole place can be booked out for private hire and events, just like Manchester City did, with a range of packages available.
