10 Quickest EVs of 2025 (So Far)

One of the biggest advantages of an electric performance car is the instant torque available from a standstill—regardless of battery size or the number of motors on each axle. EVs have essentially rewritten the rulebook on straight-line performance.

Most electric vehicles on the market today can reach 60 miles per hour in less than six seconds—yes, even the SUVs. That’s faster than one of the most iconic supercars of all time, the 1991 Acura NSX. Simply put, speed has become the standard when you swap the gas pump for a plug.

To keep you in the loop, we’ve put together a list of the quickest EVs you can buy in 2025. And for some of them, you won’t need to spend a fortune to enjoy serious performance—especially if used EVs keep depreciating faster than Elon Musk’s promises.

Let’s dive in.

10. Rivian R1T / R1S Quad

0-60 MPH: 2.5 / 2.6 seconds

  • 1,025 Horsepower / 1,198 Pound-Feet
  • Top Speed: 130 MPH
  • Pricing: TBA

Breaking into the top ten for 2025 are two of the most practical EVs you can buy: the Rivian R1S and R1T. The new Quad-Motor trim makes both even quicker, delivering power from four drive motors and a massive 1,198 pound-feet of torque.

9. Faraday Future FF 91

0-60 MPH: 2.39 Seconds

  • 1,050 Horsepower / 1,458 Pound-Feet
  • Top Speed: 155 MPH
  • Pricing: $249,000

When the hell will this SUV actually be available to the public? We still don’t know—but Faraday Future insists it’ll hit the market soon. When it does, expect a blistering 0–60 mph time of just 2.39 seconds as the FF 91 pins you to your seat.

8. Porsche Taycan Turbo S

0-60 MPH: 2.3 Seconds

  • 938 Horsepower / 818 Pound-Feet w/Launch Control (764 Standard)
  • Top Speed: 162 MPH
  • Pricing: $219,850

For a car not specifically built for the track, the Taycan Turbo S proves it can do just about everything. For 2026, it comes in two body styles: the standard sedan and the long-roof Cross Turismo, which offers more interior space and increased ground clearance. If you're chasing the quickest 0–60 mph time, the sedan is the way to go.

8. Tesla Model X Plaid

0-60 MPH: 2.3 Seconds

  • 1,020 Horsepower / 1,050 Pound-Feet
  • Top Speed: 163 MPH
  • Pricing: $114,990

The Tesla Model X may be getting long in the tooth, but don’t underestimate the Plaid model’s ability to obliterate supercars in a drag race—while carrying up to seven passengers. The Spaceballs reference is well-earned. Tesla has bumped pricing again, this time with the introduction of the Luxe Package, which includes Full Self-Driving [Supervised]. The Model X now starts at $114,990.

6. Porsche Taycan Turbo GT

0-60 MPH: 2.1 Seconds

  • 1,019 Horsepower / 818 Pound-Feet w/Launch Control
  • Top Speed: 162 MPH
  • Pricing: $241,750

The Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach Package is, quite simply, the quickest Porsche ever built—rocketing from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.1 seconds. The package also adds aggressive aerodynamic enhancements, visual upgrades, and increased downforce for better track performance. It’s also the most expensive Taycan yet, with a starting MSRP of $241,750.

5. Tesla Model S Plaid

0-60 MPH: 1.99 Seconds

  • 1,020 Horsepower / 1,050 Pound-Feet
  • Top Speed: 163 MPH
  • Pricing: $109,990

Like the Model X, the Tesla Model S is starting to show its age—but don’t let that fool you. The mid-size sedan can still dominate a drag strip, especially in Plaid form, with a jaw-dropping 0–60 mph time of just 1.99 seconds. The Luxe Package now comes standard, bundling the same premium features found in the Model X. As of now, there’s only one EV with more than two doors that’s quicker than the Model S.

4. Lucid Air Sapphire

0-60 MPH: 1.89 Seconds

  • 1,234 Horsepower / 1,430 Pound-Feet
  • Top Speed: 205 MPH
  • Pricing: $250,500

You can get the most powerful Lucid Air in any color—as long as it’s Sapphire Blue. This top-tier, fully loaded, no-compromise version leaves nothing on the table... except the question of whether you’re brave enough to unleash full throttle. The Lucid Air Sapphire rockets from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.89 seconds.

3. Pininfarina Battista

0-60 MPH: 1.79 Seconds

  • 1,900 Horsepower / 1,741 Pound-Feet
  • Top Speed: 222 MPH (est.)
  • Pricing: $2.2 million

Pininfarina’s first electric hypercar is a home run—at least on paper. The Battista is as exotic as it is fast, reaching 60 mph faster than you can take your next breath. Only 150 were built, and every single one was spoken for.

2. Rimac Nevera R

0-60 MPH: 1.74 Seconds

  • 2,107 Horsepower / Torque TBA
  • Top Speed: 256 MPH
  • Pricing: $2.5 million

Did Bugatti influence Rimac—or was it the other way around? Today, these two hypercar legends collaborate to push performance to insane new heights. The Rimac Nevera R, the latest beast from Croatia, rockets to 60 mph in just 1.74 seconds.

1. Aspark Owl

0-60 MPH: 1.72 seconds

  • 1,984 Horsepower / 1,475 Pound-Feet
  • Top Speed: 273 MPH
  • Price: $3.1 million

The Aspark Owl is finally in production and expected to be delivered to owners soon. All 50 units have been spoken for, meaning only a select few will be able to experience the Owl’s absurd 0–60 mph time of 1.72 seconds. If you spot one in the wild, get your camera ready, because it’s going, going, gone.

  1. Aspark Owl - 1.72 Seconds
  2. Rimac Nevera - 1.74 Seconds
  3. Pininfarina Battista - 1.79 Seconds
  4. Lucid Air Sapphire - 1.89 Seconds
  5. Tesla Model S Plaid - 1.99 Seconds
  6. Porsche Taycan Turbo GT - 2.1 Seconds
  7. Tesla Model X Plaid - 2.3 Seconds
  8. Porsche Taycan Turbo S - 2.3 Seconds
  9. Faraday Future FF 91 - 2.39 Seconds
