No coronavirus deaths have been recorded at hospitals in Leeds for the last 10 days.
NHS England announced that a further 41 people, including five in Yorkshire, have died after testing positive for Covid-19.
In Yorkshire, Leeds has seen the highest number (337) of coronavirus deaths in NHS hospitals during the pandemic, but no new deaths have been recorded since June 28.
The Department for Health says 3,617 people in Leeds, and 28,575 people across Yorkshire, have tested positive for the virus during the coronavirus pandemic.
Yesterday, the Department for Health announced that 286,349 people have tested positive for the virus and the death toll has reached 44,319.
Last week, Leeds City Council announced it had drawn up plans for a local lockdown strategy in case there is another spike in cases.
A council spokesman said: “We are pleased that the infection rate in Leeds is currently low and we have a comprehensive plan in place to keep it this way in order to keep residents safe and support the city’s recovery.
“Our plan is regularly reviewed and updated to make sure we are meeting our aims.”
The government continues to ease lockdown restrictions in the UK, but health secretary Matt Hancock warned that people will have to be “much more careful” in winter because coronavirus may spread faster in colder weather.
He told the House Commons the country must "remain vigilant" and that there were "signs of some seasonality" with coronavirus.
