10 Black Friday Deals on Amazon For Your Fangirl Shopping Needs

Let me help you cut through the noise of the endless scroll that can be online shopping. If you’re seeking Black Friday deals of the science fiction, fantasy, superheroes, and/or general geek variety, here are some options you can find on Amazon Prime.

Below you’ll find books, movies, and other items that any fangirl will love. They’re genuinely good deals, too. There’s an adorable Totoro plushie from My Neighbor Totoro and some other Studio Ghibli items on sale this weekend, that I personally love, but they’re only 15 percent off! If you’re going to save, let’s really save.

That said, we at The Mary Sue are aware that many folks are choosing to boycott companies like Amazon and Target this holiday season. Feel free to ignore this guide if you wish. How you do and don’t spend your money is up to you. Everyone’s situation is different and activism comes in many shapes and forms.

The board game “Ticket To Ride”

(Amazon)

Let’s do more game nights in 2026! If this train game isn’t already in your tabletop repertoire, a Black Friday deal like this might be just the sign you need to pull the plug. You don’t need to be an expert in city planning to play, but you may step away with opinions about how to create more efficient public transportation that will be sure to thrill everyone at family dinner.

You can purchase “Ticket to Ride” here.

The Good Place complete series on Blu-ray

Kristen Bell in The Good Place
(NBC)

One of my favorite things to look for on Black Friday is physical media. If you’ve been holding out on a particular movie or television series box-set because it was too expensive, grab it this weekend. Remember, things get removed from streaming services all the time, and the picture quality of a Blu-ray is just so much better. That extends to famously dark shows like Game of Thrones and the existential, science fiction-lite sitcom The Good Place. If you love shows like Lost, The Leftovers, and the new Apple TV+ sieres Pluribus but haven’t devoured The Good Place yet, you must!

You can purchase the complete series of The Good Place here.

Puncheons and Flagons cook book

(Dungeons & Dragons)

Do you host Dungeons and Dragons games yourself? Want to establish yourself as the mixologist for your next campaign? Just like creative ideas for drinks and snacks? Maybe you’ve never played D&D, but you do like Stranger Things and therefore the idea of recipes with names like “Hand of Vecna” appeals to you? One can never, in my humble opinion, have too many cookbooks.

You can purchase the Puncheons and Flagons cook book here.

“No Admittance Except On Party Business” sign for your home

Merry, Frodo, Sam, and Pippin in The fellowship of the ring
(New Line Cinema)

It’s a good house decoration because if you know, you know. Lord of the Rings fans will recognize that this sign is what Bilbo Baggins posts on his hobbit hole door ahead of his 111th birthday. Everyone else will just think it’s a cute sign! I see a lot of people buy these signs for weddings, and I love that. But I don’t necessarily think you need an occasion that big. There’s always party business, if you’re living life right.

You can purchase the Lord of the Rings inspired sign here.

This illustrated copy of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

The Tin Man, Dorothy, Toto, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz (1939)
(Warner Bros.)

Instead of buying Wicked branded cleaning supplies, or whatever, why not get back to the source material’s source material? L Frank Baum’s novel is still such a great read for all ages. This pop-up book has tons of fun illustrations and an elaborate map of Oz. If Dorothy and the yellow brick road aren’t your speed, MinaLima has illustrated editions of Peter Pan, also on sale for Black Friday, as well as The Secret Garden, Frankenstein, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and Grimm’s Fairy Tales too.

You can purchase The Wonderful Wizard of Oz here.

A witchy totebag for Marvel fans

Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff in Avengers: Endgame
(Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures)

Why add another tote bag to your rotation? Why not? There’s Wanda Maximoff content and Agatha Harkness content… and a quote from Multiverse of Madness. (Not my favorite, but it certainly has its fans.) Maybe, especially since this one is on sale, use a tote like this to in lieu of paper or a gift bag to wrap your gifts in and make this holiday a little more sustainable.

You can purchase the Wanda Maximoff tote here.

Cherish The Princess Bride on Criterion Collection Blu-ray

Buttercup cowers behind Westley in The Princess Bride
(20th Century Fox)

The Criterion Collection, which distributes films it deems important to culture and cinema history, always does gorgeous covers. But they put some extra special sauce in The Princess Bride. You’ll want it for the case, the quality, the exclusive special features, and the essays inside. One of the special features is an audiobook recording of the original novel, read by director Rob Reiner! How cool is that?

You can purchase The Princess Bride here!

Keep the YordHord alive with this lightsaber toy

Charlie Barnett as York Fandar in The Acolyte
(Disney+)

The Acolyte may have been canceled, and we will forever be upset about that, but Yord Fandar is forever. That sweet little nerd, a Jedi at the height of the High Republic, came into our lives and was taken from us far too soon. Don’t you want to give his lightsaber a good home? Sure it’s “for four-year-old boys,” but if Paul Mescal and Brittany Broski can embrace playing with swords as adults, so fan all of us. We have free will for a reason!

You can purchase the lightsaber here.

A spiral notebook for Daily Planet interns

everyone in the daily planet
(Warner Bros.)

Alright, this is one of those 15 percent Black Friday deals that I previously rolled my eyes at. (Tiny Jiji from Kiki’s Delivery Service, I love you as much as tiny Totoro… but why aren’t you marked down more??) However, I wanted to represent DC Comics as well as Marvel comics and I think this is a fun spin on a practical gift. Encourage your friends and yourself to get organized, and to write things by hand more! We rely far too much on our devices. Taking notes by hand is good for your brain. If cute Lois Lane and Clark Kent tabs help motivate you, that’s amazing!

You can purchase the Daily Planet notebook here.

Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel

Kirsten reads the Station Eleven graphic novel in 'Station Eleven'
(HBO)

Finally, the tenth anniversary edition of this post-apocalyptic novel is on sale this Black Friday. This is a great gift idea for someone looking for a new story. There’s a gorgeous, addictive, somehow underrated HBO adaptation that they may/may not have seen. It’s about a nomadic troupe of actors that forms in the aftermath of a global pandemic and brings Shakespeare to various ramshackle survivor communities. It’s not the most obvious focus for a story like this, but makes for deeply emotional and fulfilling journey.
