Nicki Minaj has explained her public support for Donald Trump.
The rapper, 43, has surprised many with her vocal support for the US President, even recently appearing at a Trump Accounts event, calling herself his “number one fan”.
In an interview with Katie Miller, the wife of the architect of Trump’s immigration policies, Stephen Miller, the rapper said she “couldn’t handle” people “bullying” Trump.
“When I saw how he was being treated over and over and over, I just couldn't handle it,” she said on The Katie Miller Podcast.

“I felt that...a lot of that bullying, and the smear campaigns and all of the lying, I felt that that had been done to me for so many years.
“And I was watching it in real time happen to someone else, and I didn't think he deserved it.”
Posting the podcast to her X account, the singer promised her fans, the Barbs, they would “love” the discussion.
Last week, Minaj appeared in Washington at an event focused on Trump Accounts, and she declared her love for Trump on stage.
“I am probably the president's number one fan,” Minaj said from the podium at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium. “And that's not going to change.”
She continued: “We're not going to let them get away with bullying him, and, you know, the smear campaigns, it's not going to work, OK? He has a lot of force behind him, and God is protecting him. Amen?”
“That is so nice, thank you,” Trump responded off-mic.
And on Sunday, Grammy Awards host Trevor Noah took aim at Trump and Minaj as he opened the 2026 ceremony.
After Bruno Mars and Rose opened the show with their single APT, the comedian, who is presenting his final edition of the Grammys, pointed out that Minaj, who recently visited the White House and expressed her support for US President Mr Trump, was “not here”.

Prompting cheers from the crowd, he said: “Nicki Minaj is not here, she is not here, she is still at the White House with Donald Trump discussing very important issues, actually.”
In an impersonation of the president, he joked: “‘Nicki, I have the biggest ass, I have it, everybody’s saying it Nicki, I know they say to you, but it’s me, wop, wop, wop, look at it, look at it, baby’.”
The following morning, Minaj wrote on X: “As they do their ritual tonight, God almighty will reveal himself to them.
“The ritual will backfire on them. God will not be mocked. Blessed is the MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS CHRIST.
“Every tongue that rises up against me in judgement shall be condemned & put to shame.”
