California Gov. Gavin Newsom insulted Scott Turner, President Donald Trump's Housing and Urban Development Secretary, in Spanish after announcing the removal of languages in the department's website.
"HUD is ENGLISH only," read a post by Turner, showing images of the removal of all languages other than English in the website. "Vete a la chingada," Newsom's press office responded, which can be translated to "f--k off."

It is a new instance of Newsom mimicking Trump on social media. His press office has been publishing all-caps posts and trolling right-wing outlets and influencers.
The strategy seems to be striking a nerve among some. Fox News host Dana Perino said on Monday that Newsom has to "stop it with the Twitter thing."
"If I were his wife, I would say: You are making a fool of yourself, stop it. ... He's got a big job as governor of California, but if he wants an even bigger job, he has to be a little more serious," she said.
Newsom's office responded with a post in all caps saying "Dana 'Ding Dong' Perino (never heard of her until today!) is melting down because of me, Gavin C. Newsom! Fox hates that I am America's most favorite governor ("ratings king") saving America — while Trump can't even conquer the "big" stairs on Air Force One anymore!!!"
Newsom has taken a more prominent role in the political conversation ever since spearheading a retaliation against Republicans over their redistricting initiative in Texas.
This week California Democrats unveiled a congressional map that would add five seats to the party, offsetting Texas' intended gains.
If passed, Democrats' measure would resume using nonpartisan maps after the 2030 census. "We anticipate these maps will completely neuter and neutralize what is happening in Texas," Newsom said. He added that the move will only go into effect if Texas Republicans move forward with their initiative. "There's still an exit ramp," he said.
The Washington Post noted that California Democrats currently hold 43 out of the state's 52 congressional seats. The new map would expand the advantage to 48-4.
