Israeli composer and violinist Pinchas Zukerman shares the stage with pianist Angela Cheng and his wife, cellist Amanda Forsyth. They perform Glière’s Eight Pieces, short sets of duets, and the bolder, more adventurous Schubert’s Piano Trio no 2.
As a fitting contract, Shostakovich’s Piano Trio no 2, written as a lament for a close friend during World War II, is emotional intensity in musical form.
