Zouma reaches out to Rennes wonderkid Camavinga and Declan Rice drops hint about future

Here is the Chelsea morning digest for Thursday, November 26.

West Ham star Declan Rice opens up on future ambitions amid Chelsea transfer links

Declan Rice has revealed his ambition to win trophies in the coming years.

The West Ham United midfielder spent time in Chelsea’s youth system but joined West Ham after being released by the Blues.

He has been strongly linked with a return to Stamford Bridge and that has seen the player discuss his future in the game and ambitions he has.

"As a footballer you only get one career and it goes by very quick," Rice told Sky Sports.

"You want to be successful for club and country. I think it’s an important thing to win trophies. There’s talk of Harry Kane at Spurs and what he should be doing, obviously he can do whatever he wants.

Can Chelsea challenge for the title?

"He’s going to win trophies we all know that. I think that’s something I want to aim for as well. I’m only 21 but to get those highs of your career you need to win stuff and that’s what I want to do."

The midfielder also opened up about where he sees his future positionally. You can read the full story here.

Chelsea fans are all saying the same thing as Thiago Silva tipped for contract extension

Thiago Silva has adjusted well to life at Chelsea.

The Brazilian defender joined on a free transfer this summer from Paris Saint-Germain, and his experience has proved important for Frank Lampard.

There have already been reports indicated that the player is keen to extend his stay at the club, and the feeling is mutual.

Reports in the Italian media indicate the player’s representatives have reached out about starting discussions over a new deal, and the club are said to be receptive.

Meanwhile, Blues fans have also been discussing the idea of Silva staying at the club, and you can read their reactions here.

Kurt Zouma delivers pep talk to Eduardo Camavinga

Kurt Zouma gave Eduardo Camavinga an on-field pep talk in the wake of Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Rennes this week, according to RMC Sport.

The Blues scored a late winner against the French outfit to secure their passage into the next stage of the competition.

Meanwhile, Rennes have struggled and sit bottom of Group E after goals from Callum Hudson-Odoi and Olivier Giroud handed the Blues the win.

Clearly disappointed with the result, the cameras caught Camavinga receiving some words of wisdom from his fellow Frenchman.

"Sometimes you have to swing when you’re behind,” Zouma told Camavinga at the end of the game. "We do it sometimes.

"When there is pressure, you lose the ball and a goal. Every time it’s like this! It happened against PSG too."
