Zoom meeting porn hack leaves community board members horrified

A hacker hijacked a local community Zoom meeting with a lurid sex act - leaving members horrified.

During a Brooklyn, US, board meeting on Wednesday, members came together from the Coney Island Health Centre to discuss the high rate of sexually transmitted diseases across the city.

However, when one representative was talking about the issue at hand with members a hijacker appeared in the upper left of the screen appearing to pleasure himself.

Attendees didn't know where to look as one member could be heard saying "I think we’re being Zoom-bombed."

Foul language and offensive words were shouted during the pre-recorded message.

“This meeting has been flagged as pornographic,” the announcement states.

“This meeting will be shut down in five minutes if you do not make me host and resolve the issue.”

Embarrassed chair Lucy Mujica Diaz demanded everyone log off and exit the Zoom meeting but just seconds later a video emerged of a man appearing to masturbate.

One member told the New York Post: “It was a hack. It was a porn hack. It was full frontal! Everybody was stunned.”

A new link was sent out to members and the meeting was able to continue as Ms Diaz apologised and blamed the incident on a hacker.

She said: “OK, so we apologize for technical difficulties, guys. We apologize, we don’t know what happened, we were hacked."

Ms Diaz is part of Community Board 13 which covers Brighton Beach, Coney Island, Gravesend and Sea Gate.

New York Councillor Ari Kagan was on the meeting over the phone and didn’t see the shocking video but he could hear the offensive language.

He said: “The meeting was hacked. There was gay porn."

Government meetings have been hacked since Covid with many being held virtually due to the pandemic.

Two years ago hackers streamed porn during a New York Council event just twenty minutes into the meeting.

Members were discussing new legislation that protects healthcare workers from discrimination when porn began streaming into their Zoom call.

One member said: "There was a bunch of porn put online and we shut it down as quickly as we could."

The material had photos and videos of people mid-sex act — leaving councillors red-faced.

They were urged to log off and re-join the meeting with a different stream.

It took just five minutes later for the meeting to resume and discussions over a crack down on gender and racial discrimination at health institutions continued.

Following a recent spate of Zoom takeovers the company urged people to make their meetings private so members of the public can't hijack them.
