Zoo farm announces death of 'loved' Bengal Tiger Khan

A 16-year-old tiger at a zoo farm near Bristol has died.

Bosses at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm made the announcement that Khan the tiger has died on the attraction’s Facebook page.

Khan, a Bengal Tiger who arrived at the Wraxall attraction in 2009, was 16 years old.

It is not known exactly when he died or what he died of.

Khan shared the Big Cat Enclosure wife his female companion Tiana.

A spokeman said: “He was such a huge character here at the zoo and was loved by staff and visitors alike."

A Bengal tiger has an average lifespan of eight to 10 years in the wild and are classified as Endangered on the IUCN red list.
