Zoo closed after worker mauled to death

  • A zookeeper, Jian Rangkharasamee, 58, was mauled to death by lions at Safari World Bangkok on Wednesday.
  • The incident occurred in the park's viewing section when Mr Rangkharasamee, who had worked there for three decades, reportedly stepped out of his car during feeding time.
  • Wildlife protection officials believe six or seven lions were involved in the attack, which was witnessed by visitors.
  • Safari World Bangkok has been temporarily closed, and police have launched an investigation into the incident.
  • Mr Rangkharasamee's wife stated he was the family's sole breadwinner and always took precautions, having never been attacked before.
