Zoflora and Dettol issue urgent warning to shoppers

Earlier today, the world was left shocked with the news that Donald Trump had suggested that injecting disinfectant into the body could be a cure for coronavirus.

The medical community has since lambasted the President, and now two major disinfectant brands have been forced to issue warnings to shoppers, after Zoflora and Dettol both began trending on Twitter.

Posting on the social media platform, Zoflora said: "While it’s nice to be trending on Twitter, we would like to remind you all that Zoflora is NOT for human consumption in any way, despite what certain world leaders may be suggesting . Stay safe guys!"

The makers of Dettol have also issued a press release following the President's comments.

The statement read: "Due to recent speculation and social media activity, RB has been asked whether internal administration of disinfectants may be appropriate for investigation or use as a treatment for coronavirus.

"As a global leader in health and hygiene products, we must be clear that under no circumstance should our disinfectant products be administered into the human body (through injection, ingestion or any other route)."

We can't believe we're having to say this, but please, if you're planning on giving Trump's advice a go, DON'T. Read all cleaning product labels before use, and only use as instructed.

Stay safe!
