YouTube star Zoella has announced that she is pregnant with her first child.

Zoella, whose real name is Zoe Sugg, made the announcement on Instagram, accompanied by a video featuring her and her partner Alfie Deyes, 27.

The 30-year-old wrote: “We’re super excited to share with you, that our baby girl will be joining us in September”.

The accompanying video features a clip filmed during Sugg’s pregnancy scan, her observing her bump in the mirror and Deyes embracing her as they show a scan picture to the camera.

Sugg’s brother, Joe, commented: “The best news! 👏congratulations. Can not wait to be a ‘Funcle’”.

Sugg and fellow vlogger Deyes, who live in Brighton, celebrated their eight-year anniversary on 4 October last year.

The couple reportedly first met at a YouTube event when Sugg queued up to meet Deyes at a meet and greet.

Sugg first began posting YouTube content over a decade ago in 2009.

In 2018, she spoke to Glamour magazine about her struggle with anxiety, which she has been open out in her videos. The star said she has weekly therapy sessions and takes “digital detoxes”.

“There are definitely times where I’ve thought, ‘Wow, I don’t know if this is worth it,’” she said regarding her career.

“In situations where eight years ago I might’ve completely crumbled, I see things differently now.”

However, Zoella said she would be “lying” if she said it wasn’t difficult – and believes she is still far from completely unravelling the mental health issues she has been battling since she was 14.

In a separate interview with The Sun newspaper in 2016, the star opened up about experiencing online abuse and said she had been accused of lying about her mental health to increase her following.

She said: “I’ve had comments about being too skinny and that I pretend to suffer from anxiety to boost my subscriber figurers.”
