Zoe Ball pulls out of Strictly Come Dancing's It Takes Two over illness

Zoe Ball has been forced to pull out of tonight's It Takes Two show because of ill health, after sitting last night's episode out for the same reason.

The blonde presenter is too unwell to host the Strictly Come Dancing spin-off show, leaving Rylan Clark-Neal to co-present with Gethin Jones.

In a statement, the BBC confirmed: "Tonight's It Takes Two will be hosted by Strictly favourite Gethin Jones, as Zoe Ball is unwell.

"Gethin will be joined by Will Bayley and Janette Manrara, Alex Scott and Neil Jones, and Dev Griffin and Dianne Buswell for tonight's show.

"Ian Waite will also be at the studio as usual, as Waite’s Warm Up gets Strictly fans ready for the weekend."

Zoe also had to pull out of her usual BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show this morning after being struck down by flu.

She tweeted last night to thank Gethin, who offered to also step in and cover her radio show alongside Nicki Chapman.

"Gutted to say I've been taken down by a nasty bout of flu. Huge apologies for missing the R2 Breakfast Show & It Takes Two," she wrote.

"Thanks to @Nicki_Chapman & @GethincJones for stepping in. Promise to be back ASAP. Sending love to anyone else illin with this flu, it’s such a stinker."

Zoe was flooded with messages from fans wishing her well.

"Take care Zoe. Rest and relax lovely lady," tweeted one.

"Hope you're on the mend very soon," wrote another, while a third told her: "Rest up and get well soon gorgeous."

*It Takes Two returns to BBC One at 5.15pm.
