Zlatan Ibrahimovic under investigation by Swedish FA over dressing room violation

Zlatan ibrahimovic is under investigation from the Swedish FA after breaching protocol by entering Hammarby's dressing room.

The veteran striker is co-owner of the Swedish club and was present for their 2-0 win over Ostersunds.

After the match Ibrahimovic went down to the home dressing room to congratulate the Hammarby players, but in doing so, he violated current restrictions in place in Sweden.

The Swedish Allsvenskan has a number of safety protocols in place to protect against the risk of coronavirus.

One of those is that only players and technical staff are permitted to enter the dressing rooms on matchdays.

Despite being a major shareholder, Ibrahimovic is not classified as a player for Hammarby, and the Swedish FA (SvFF) are now looking into the incident.

The SvFF's secretary-general Mats Enquis said: "I do need more information before I can say anything about it. We will first contact Hammarby."

Ibrahimovic may have been unclear on the restrictions given he had been training with Hammarby throughout lockdown.

The striker has since returned to Italy for training with employers AC Milan, though his time at the club looks to be nearing an end.

Milan only signed Ibrahimovic on an initial six-month contract with option for a further year.

But the 38-year-old is on big wages and is already unsettled at the San Siro following the sacking of his friend Zvonimir Boban, who played a significant role in bringing him to the club.

The situation led to a showdown row with Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis last week whom Ibrahimovic is said to have criticised over his poor handling of pay cut discussions.

Milan are not averse to the economic implications of the coronavirus crisis, which are having considerable knock-on effect to club finances, and Ibrahimovic could be offloaded in a bid to cut costs.

Speculation has suggested he could now hang up his boots and officially retire from the game, with further hints he could take on a role as an agent with Mino Raiola as his mentor.

Ibrahimovic will still have options to carry on playing though, and is yet to make a decision on his next move.
