Zlatan Ibrahimovic tells Manchester United how to handle Paul Pogba transfer situation

Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes Manchester United should let Paul Pogba leave this summer if he wants to.

The French World Cup winner continues to be linked with a potential exit from Old Trafford after he admitted earlier in the summer that he is considering a 'new challenge'.

Despite the persistent speculation Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains delighted with the professionalism shown by Pogba at the club, and he has reiterated many times this summer that no offer has been received amid Real Madrid interest.

It seems like Pogba would need to force his way out if he were to leave United this summer, and Ibrahimovic, who shares the same agent as Pogba in Mino Raiola, believes his former teammate should be allowed to leave if he really does want to.

“If he doesn’t want to stay it makes no sense to keep him,” Ibrahimovic told the BBC.  “If he wants to be somewhere else, that is where you let him go.

“Use the situation and bring somebody that wants to stay. The dressing room, the players respect each other, they understand each others’ situation.

“The club worries more and the management because you don’t want a player in your club or in your team that doesn’t want to stay because you know he won’t give 100 or 200 per cent.

“Or he does that and still he doesn’t want to stay so it’s a tricky situation. The best [thing to do] is what is the best for the club. That is what you have to look at.”
