Former Paris Saint-Germain star Zlatan Ibrahimovic admits he's told Kylian Mbappe to leave the French capital to further his career.
The Milan veteran scored an incredible 156 goals in 180 games for the Ligue 1 giants, winning 11 trophies in the process.
But he risks the ire of the PSG fans as he admits he has told their young star to leave the club.
Mbappe is out of contract at the end of the season and Real Madrid have made no secret of their interest, and Zlatan believes the time has come for the World Cup winner to go.
Asked if he'd advised the Frenchman to leave Ibrahimovic told Corriere della Sera: "It's true.
"Mbappe needs a more structured environment like at Real Madrid.
"But I also told the PSG president not to sell him."
In a wide-ranging interview Ibrahimovic also reflected on his own career, revealing he nearly didn't go back to Milan after watching a documentary on Diego Maradona.
The Swede explained: "Maradona is a mythical figure, I saw a documentary about him and decided to go to Napoli to be like Diego and win the Scudetto.
"I was sick of America and I thought about retiring but Mino (Raiola) told me, 'you're crazy, you have to go back to Italy'.
"It was done with Napoli; but then De Laurentiis chased Ancelotti out.
"So I asked Mino: which is the worst team that I can change? He replied, 'yesterday Milan lost 5-0 in Bergamo'.
"'So it's decided,' I said 'Let's go to Milan. It's a club I know, a city I like.'
"In the beginning nobody ran in training. I faced them down one by one, and not on the sidelines, in front of the others: in training you have to kill yourself with work.
"If I run, if I kill myself, my team-mate will run and kill himself for me."
The Rossoneri are not quite the force they were during the veteran's first spell, and he recalled a story about former owner and Prime Minister of Italy Silvio Berlusconi.
Ibrahimovic said: "One Sunday I'm in the stands at San Siro, he makes me sit next to him.
"Then he says to me: 'Ibra, do you mind climbing up a row? A very important person is coming'.
"I climb, and (general manager Adriano) Galliani does too. I'm thinking a politician is coming.
"Instead a beautiful woman arrives, in impressive heels. Berlusconi winks at me: 'Very important person...'.
"And for him maybe she really was."
Former Rangers man Rino Gattuso was also part of a fiery dressing room, and Ibrahimovic gave an insight into their dynamic.
He said: "We fired each other up.
"One day he called me an 'ugly Slav'. So I threw him upside down in a bin."
