Zlatan Ibrahimovic sends transfer message to Manchester United

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has jokingly suggested he could join Manchester United for a third time.

The veteran Swede moved to Old Trafford in 2016 and scored 28 goals in his debut season for the club before a serious knee injury led to United releasing him in June 2017.

Ibrahimovic rejoined United two months later but his second campaign in a red shirt did not go to plan and he left in March 2018 to join LA Galaxy.

The 27-year-old has scored 44 goals in 49 games for the MLS outfit and he believes he would still be capable of doing a job in the Premier League.

"I could play easy in the Premier League, so if United need me, I'm here," Ibrahimovic told PA. "But Galaxy has me, so I'm sorry.

"Nah, I did my job in Europe. I enjoyed it, I have 33 trophies that I brought with me here and hopefully I can get something here. And then we will see where that adventure finishes."

Ibrahimovic added that he still keeps an eye on how United are doing and said they were unfortunate to lose against Crystal Palace last weekend.

"I look [at their results], I look, I look," Ibrahimovic added. "I saw the last game and I think they were unlucky. If they score the penalty, it's a different game but a game in England is not finished until its finished.

"Anything can happen, especially in the last minutes where everything is in the heat of the moment."
