Zlatan Ibrahimovic in Celtic Europa League boost as Milan striker eyes return to 'greatest' Parkhead

Celtic are set to face Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the Europa League after the legendary striker was given the all-clear to return to training.

The Milan forward was diagnosed with coronavirus and forced to isolate, with the veteran missing the Rossoneri 's last four matches.

Though the 39-year-old was asymptomatic he was still returning positive tests and could not train with his team-mates.

Ibrahimovic returned a second negative test in a row on Saturday, however, and can now resume training at Milanello.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport the former Manchester United man will resume working with his team-mates on Sunday and hopes to be ready for the derby against Inter on October 17.

Provided there are no setbacks Ibrahimovic will be available to face Celtic the following Thursday.

The Swede is one of the best strikers of his generation and has hit 550 career goals.

He's lifted 13 league titles in Italy, Spain and France and is his country's all-time top goalscorer.

Zlatan has played at Parkhead once before, playing 25 minutes for Ajax in a Champions League qualifier in 2001.

The arena left a big impression on Ibrahimovic who later said: "I have played in the biggest games in world football.

"But I have never experienced an atmosphere like I did at Celtic Park."

He's now set to return almost 20 years later, though no fans will be present for the Europa League tie.
