Harry Kane has reportedly become disgruntled with Tottenham's current direction as their wait for a trophy has extended to 13 years.
Contrary to reports by Sky Sports News, football.london understands that England's captain has not informed the club of any desire to leave ahead of the summer transfer window.
However, he has made his desire to win silverware clear and with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City reportedly interested, Kane may well part ways with Spurs this summer.
In light of this, we take a look back now at some comments from serial winner and notoriously outspoken Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He urged Kane to leave Tottenham in the hunt of trophies in an interview with Bethard in 2019.
"When I was in England, I saw him play. I think he is a good striker. He's still developing, he's doing good things," he said. "But I always say, playing in a big club, performing good is different from playing in... with all respect to Tottenham, a 'normal' club."
Ibrahimovic, who has won trophies in England, Spain, Italy, France and the Netherlands, thinks that Kane needs to start a new chapter at a trophy-winning side to become one of the greats.
"I think he can make it. He just needs to make the move, and people will remember you for what you win," he added. "So if he wants to win, then yes, I think he needs to change.
Kane still has three years left on his current contract with Spurs but if the 27-year-old does press for a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, this could be a transfer saga that goes on the whole summer.
