Zlatan Ibrahimovic claims he is returning to Spain in hint over his next club

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has all-but confirmed his return to La Liga after claiming he is "coming back" to Spain.

The veteran striker is out of contract with LA Galaxy and looks set to move on after their playoff hopes ended.

Ibrahimovic has been linked with a move back to Italy, but it seems he will head to Spain where he has played previously for Barcelona .

In a video posted on his Instagram story, Ibrahimovic said: "Hola Espana, guess what? I'm coming back."

Odds on the Swedish frontman joining Atletico Madrid have now shortened to 5/2, with Ladbrokes placing the Los Rojiblancos as favourites to land his signature.

And the 38-year-old has not lost any of his prowess in front of goal during his two-and-a-half year stay in the States.

He netted 30 goals in 31 games during the regular MLS season, second only to Carlos Vela.

But his time at the Galaxy has seemingly come to an unsavoury end, after he was seen grabbing his crotch in an indecent gesture to opposition fans after they were knocked out of the playoffs.

Ibrahimovic said after the match: "Not being disrespectful but this is like training for me. The stadium is too small for me. I'm used to playing in front of 80,000. This is a walk in the park.

"What happens next year? I don't know. If I stay it will be good for MLS because the whole world will watch it. If I don't stay, nobody will remember what MLS is."

Napoli were considered serious contenders to land the former Man Utd man, after he praised the city of Naples.

They are priced at 3/1 with the bookies, while Valencia and Bologna are both at 6/1.
