Zlatan Ibrahimovic breaks silence over AC Milan future after Leeds United transfer talks

Zlatan Ibrahimovic says he is not expecting a new contract at AC Milan after Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani admitted to holding transfer talks with the striker.

Radrizzani yesterday revealed the Whites had been in contact with the Swedish superstar over a potential move to Elland Road in January but he instead chose a return to the San Siro.

Despite five goals in 14 Serie A appearances, Ibrahimovic is yet to be offered an extension on the six-month deal he signed.

Speaking to Sky Sports Italy, he said there has been no contact over a potential new deal and he does not anticipate being offered one.

"I still have three games, still 10 days, nobody said anything to me and I don’t expect anything else,” he said.

"There are things that we cannot control, but that seems strange to me, but we are doing great things.

"We play with great confidence and we believe in what we do.

"I’m working, I’m fine, the team is fine and doing good things.

"When I arrived we are second or third in the standings, it means it is not bad."

Whilst Ibrahimovic's availability may excite Leeds fans and set tongues wagging after Radrizzani's transfer reveal, the Whites owner did admit that the cut and thrust of English football may be too much for the 38-year-old to handle these days.

"Ibrahimovic will certainly be difficult," he said.

"We tried to sign him in January, but he chose to join Milan and the deal vanished.

"Now I think it’s too late, the intensity of English football is different."
