Zlatan Ibrahimovich has opened up on a brutal bet with Romelu Lukaku during their time at Manchester United as he slammed the Belgian for his lack of technique.
Ibrahimovic explained how he offered to give Lukaku £50 every time he made a "decent first touch" but his team-mate did not take him up on the offer.
Despite criticising the technique of the former United man, Ibrahimovic has backed him to be a success in Italy after making the move to Inter Milan.
The Swede has called on Lukaku to use his "sheer power" in order to emulate him by becoming a big hit at the San Siro.
In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport , Ibrahimovic explained: "I will say this on Romelu: don’t expect good technique from Lukaku.
"His best strength is sheer power. If only he’d listened to me…
"At Manchester United, we made a bet: “'’ll give you £50 for every decent first touch you make.'
"He replied: 'What do I win if I get them all right?'
"I told him nothing, he would simply become a better player.
"For the record, he never accepted the bet! Perhaps he was afraid of losing…
"Joking aside, Lukaku has this mad hunger to prove himself to the world and I’m sure he will do well at Inter too."
Ibrahimovic scored 57 Serie A goals for Inter Milan, whilst Lukaku has got off to a strong start with three goals in his first seven goals.
He was offloaded by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this summer, followed by Alexis Sanchez, but the Red Devils have struggled for goals having failed to replace the pair.
