Ziyech's class, Tomori keeps up with Pulisic - what we spotted in Chelsea training before Wolves

It's been a tough week for Chelsea as they head into their most important clash of the season against Wolves.

Defeat to Liverpool means that that Blues require a point to seal their Champions League qualification against Nuno Espirito Santo's side who are in turn hoping to secure a place in the Europa League.

Frank Lampard led a training session ahead of the clash and here are some things we noticed from the Cobham training field.

N'Golo Kante trains

N'Golo Kante is finally back traing at full speed and could be set for a place facing Wolves as the Blues chase their European dreams.

The Frenchman has been sorely missed in recent weeks in the centre of midfield while out with a hamstring injury, with Jorginho playing in a defensive role since Billy Gilmour was ruled out for the season.

The 29-year-old featured in a number of pictures from Chelsea's sessions and looked to be fully engaged with the team throughout.

Frank Lampard will have quite the decision whether to make use of his midfielder star or whether to play it safe to ensure Kante is fully fit to face Arsenal in the FA Cup.

"There's a possibility that he'll feature, he's trained, probably for the first time, towards at match pace this morning," Lampard said.

"So it's a decision I'll have to make, talking to him, with the medical team, to see if he's ready to start."

Hakim Ziyech getting up to speed

Chelsea's new signing has been slowly settling into life at Chelsea's Cobham training base but now appears to be upping the ante.

One moment capture by the club Instagram account showed the former Ajax star already forming a partnership with Pedro.

The video showed Ziyech receiving the ball from his teammate and playing a deft one-two by lifting the ball over a defender for the Spaniard to run onto and smash past goalkeeper Kepa.

Blues boss Frank Lampard has spoken about how well Ziyech has settled in with his new teammates.

"So, [he’s settled in] very well. The lads have welcomed him very well.

"He’s settled in, chatting and forming those new relationships in the early stages.

"And more importantly for him, he’s getting himself fit. Nice to take a bit part in training and then also get some physical work because he hasn’t trained or played for quite a while."

He's certainly beginning to look up to speed.

Fikayo Tomori keeping up with Christian Pulisic

Christian Pulisic has lit up the Premier League since the restart contributing four goals and four assists in eight games. His confidence is high and he looks to have the talent to be a superstar and even in training he looks at his athletic best.

He was pitted against Fikayo Tomori at Cobham on Friday, the Chelsea academy is certain to have had his hands full but managed to keep pretty close as the pair faced off.

Tomori made the bench against Liverpool, Manchester United and Norwich but has yet to play since returning from injury.

He seems to be getting up to speed and has matched up against potentially the league's most in form player.

Perhaps he could provide the solution to Chelsea's defensive issues.
