Zion Williamson showed up to Saints training camp to challenge Drew Brees

The dream is still alive: Zion Williamson, a freakishly athletic, 6-foot-7, 285-pound tight end for the New Orleans Saints. And on Monday, it got one step closer to becoming a reality. (Note: It did not).

OK, so the chances of seeing Williamson playing actual football alongside Drew Brees and the Saints are next to zero. But the Pelicans No. 1 pick isn’t exactly shying away from Saints training camp this year.

On Sunday, he accepted a challenge from Brees to participate in the Saints’ QB challenge, which seems like a play on the old Arizona Cardinals bucket challenge. It led to Williamson showing up to Saints practice and throwing with Brees.

Sure, we have the sample size of a 13-second video (plus, a couple videos of Zion throwing a ball really far over the years), but I’m ready to say that Zion Williamson is a legitimate football talent.

Look at him go. He’s using his hands and not the body, catching the ball at its highest point and we already know about his athleticism. Plus, look at that arm.

Sign him up, Saints.

He’ll fit right in.
