Zion Williamson makes his first Saints sideline appearance

The New Orleans Saints welcomed a few special guests to their sideline, including their new neighbors from right next door: New Orleans Pelicans players Zion Williamson, Jaxson Hayes, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, and Lonzo Ball joined the Saints inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Williamson was the Pelicans’ top draft pick, selected first overall in this year’s NBA Draft. Hayes and Alexander-Walker were also drafted this year; Hayes was spotted wearing a Cameron Jordan jersey, and Alexander-Walker wore a Michael Thomas jersey. Ball was one of several players acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Saints quarterback Drew Brees and Williamson have struck up a friendship early on, thanks as much to proximity (the Saints and Pelicans training facilities share a parking lot) as shared goals. Each of them want to represent New Orleans on the biggest stages.

Additionally, the Saints hosted the Little League World Championship winners, with the East Bank team from River Ridge, La. visiting the team practice facilities before joining the Saints on the sidelines for their Monday Night Football game against the Houston Texans. It’s always nice to have some celebrities on your side.
