Since Zion Williamson made his return to the Blue Devils’ lineup after suffering a sprained knee (and exploding sneaker), the Duke star has worn a custom version of the Nike Kyrie 4 sneaker.
Though Williamson has objectively been awesome in the four games with the Kyrie shoes, many argued — us included — that Williamson wasn’t wearing the sneaker best-suited for his rare combination of size, weight, speed and skill.
That will change on Sunday.
Ahead of Duke’s second-round game against UCF, the Duke Basketball Twitter account shared a look at Williamson’s customized Nike LeBron X (10) sneakers. He’s finally making the correct footwear decision.
The most recent iteration of the LeBron signature line are the LeBron 16s, which have impeccable support and traction. But the LeBron 10s are a sturdier shoe.
Given how Nike has Zion-ized the Kyrie sneakers he’s worn post-injury, it’s reasonable to assume that these LeBron 10s have been designed to Williamson’s preferred specifications as well. Just look at what he wore in the first round — these are not shoes you can find in a store.

But if you’re Zion Williamson, there’s no better baseline for a custom shoe than Nike’s LeBron sneakers. It’s great to see him giving the shoe a try.
