Zion Williamson injury status: Zion will return for Duke vs. Syracuse on Thursday

Rejoice, basketball fans (and, oh yeah, Duke die-hards).

Zion Williamson will be back on the court for the Blue Devils after missing five games with a knee injury.

The team lost a pair of games to Virginia Tech and North Carolina in his absence. Now, with Duke playing its first game of the ACC tournament as the No. 3 seed against Syracuse, the explosive freshman forward will suit up after his Nike sneaker exploded in February during the opening minutes of another loss to the rival Tar Heels.

It’s undoubtedly huge news for the team, for basketball fans in general who love to see his thunderous dunks, surprisingly quick feet on defense and his hustle to block shots, and NBA teams vying to draft him later this year.

There are those experts and fellow hoops stars who might think he’s making a mistake to come back from injury and possibly risk hurting his draft stock if he suffers something worse.

But it’s clear he’s not worried and that he wants to play. Zion is back and we should be thankful to we’ll get to see him play basketball and wow us as he’s done throughout his just-starting career.
