Zion Williamson blew through his shoe in stunning fashion while suffering injury against UNC

The highly anticipated North Carolina-Duke game got off to a stunning start Wednesday night when Zion Williamson left with a freak injury after blowing through his shoe 33 seconds into the game.

UPDATE: ESPN just reported that Zion will not return to the game with a knee injury. Coach K said after the game that it was mild knee sprain and it’s unclear when Williamson will return.

The star freshman who has taken over college hoops in his first year with the Blue Devils went to switch directions on a relatively simple move when his foot slipped and then came exploding out of his shoe.

Williamson appeared to be in pain and stayed down on the court for a little bit before heading to the bench and then eventually to the locker room as his team played on without him.
