Zion cam! CBS dedicates one camera to follow every move Zion Williamson makes

It’s an absolute guarantee CBS won’t miss a single moment of Zion Williamson’s 2019 NCAA tournament for Duke, which will start its run as the favorite team on Friday night against North Dakota State.

That’s because the March Madness network will have one camera dedicated to following the gargantuan forward at all times. It makes sense given all the hype around him — every time he does something, whether it’s a monstrous dunk, high-flying swat or just blowing out his shoe, the basketball world goes nuts.

Her’s what CBS college basketball coordinating producer Marc Wolff told The State about the coverage plan:

“Because of Zion (Williamson), we have added a camera dedicated to him the whole time he is on the floor,” said Wolff, who has risen to be the network’s coordinating producer of college basketball. “We hired a cameraman, a camera, a digital tape machine to record everything he does.”

That’s never happened before in Wolff’s time with the network, he said, which probably means it has never happened before. Williamson is having that kind of impact on college basketball this season.
