Zinedine Zidane unsure of Real Madrid future after LaLiga triumph: 'You never know what can happen'

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has dismissed talk of next season and his future at the Santiago Bernabeu after winning LaLiga.

Zidane's side claimed the title with a 2-1 win at home to Villarreal on Thursday and the Frenchman claimed afterwards that he was happier than when he had led Los Blancos to three successive Champions League crowns between 2016 and 2018.

After winning the last of those, in Kiev in 2018, Zidane stepped down as coach. And asked on Saturday if he would definitely be Madrid boss next season, he said: "Nobody knows what will happen.

"That's why I won't talk about next year. I have a contract, I like being here. I enjoy what I do, but you never know what is going to happen in football.

"Football in general changes from one day to the next. I'm here, enjoying myself, let's see until when."

Asked if he had planned anything for the 2020-21 campaign, he added: "There's a lot left [before that]. There's tomorrow's game, the Champions League.

"We are still in competition. I'm not going to talk about next season until this one has finished.

"We have a game tomorrow (against Leganes), then there's the Champions League. Further down the line, we'll look at next season."
