Zinedine Zidane 'tells Real Madrid the three players he wants this summer' - and one is Eden Hazard

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has highlighted Chelsea winger Eden Hazard as one of three players he wants to the club to sign during the summer, according to reports in Spain.

Zidane rejoined the club in March and is already planning improvements to his squad as the Spanish giants look to put a disappointing season behind them.

Madrid are set to finish behind both Barcelona and local rivals Atletico in La Liga, and the club failed to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time since the 2009/10 season.

With a busy summer expected at the Bernabeu, Spanish outlet El Confidencial report that Zidane has told the Madrid hierarchy three players he wants to sign.

The publication claims that Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe tops Zidane's wishlist, but that Frenchman is also eyeing Chelsea winger Eden Hazard in an attempt to improve his attacking options.

Gareth Bale set for Real Madrid stand-off plus Paul Pogba and Eden Hazard latest

Despite being heavily linked with a move for Manchester United's Paul Pogba, it is reported that Zidane will attempt to add more creativity to his midfield with a move for Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen.

Denmark international Eriksen is set to enter the final year of his contract at Spurs and the 27-year-old has so far kept his options open by refusing to commit to a new deal in North London.

Meanwhile, Chelsea winger Hazard is expected to end his seven-year spell at Stamford Bridge this summer after catching the eye with a number of sensational displays under Maurizio Sarri.

Real Madrid face fresh obstacle in transfer chase for Man Utd's Paul Pogba

Despite growing speculation over Zidane's targets for the upcoming window, the Real Madrid boss has been reluctant to discuss his transfer plans.

When asked about a potential move for PSG striker Mbappe on Saturday, he replied: “You can ask. I’ll reply what I like. I’m not going to discuss any names or anything.

"What I can tell you is that we are working on it and we will talk about it when the time comes.

“Now we have to talk about the teams we are going to play. Later, I will talk to the club about the profile of players, because I know what I want.”
