Zinedine Zidane’s Man United decision may impact Antonio Conte if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is sacked

Zinedine Zidane reportedly has no interest in becoming Manchester United manager should Ole Gunnar Solskjaer be sacked.

The Norwegian is under a lot of pressure at Manchester United after his side were heavily beaten by Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.

A hat-trick from Mohamed Salah, as well as goals from Naby Keita and Diogo Jota, were enough to condemn the Red Devils to an embarrassing 5-0 defeat at the hands of one of their closest rivals.

The defeat means that United are now on 14 points after nine games, already eight adrift from early leaders Chelsea.

Solskjaer has had some leeway with results on account of his legendary status at United as a player, but now that his current team are strongly underperforming, speculation about his job is mounting.

Plenty of names are being linked as possible replacements for Solskjaer, two of them being Zinedine Zidane and Antonio Conte.

Both are out of a job at the minute but reports from Spain are suggesting that Zidane isn’t actually interested in taking over the Red Devils.

Mundo Deportivo, via the MEN, have reported that the Frenchman isn’t ready to return to management after leaving Real Madrid for a second time at the end of last season.

Meanwhile, former Chelsea manager Conte - who most recently guided Inter Milan to their first Scudetto in over a decade before walking out over a reported dispute with the club’s owners – is open to replacing Solskjaer as United’s manager, despite having some concerns about the club’s current structure.

And now that Zidane has seemingly pulled out of the running for the job, Conte could well be one of the favourites to replace him – it seems as though only time will tell.
