Zinedine Zidane questions Gareth Bale's Real Madrid attitude as Spanish media predict imminent exit for Manchester United target

Zinedine Zidane says he has serious doubts over Gareth Bale's commitment to Real Madrid, amid reports the Wales superstar decided to travel back alone from their surprise defeat away to Rayo Vallecano.

According to Spanish outlet Marca , Bale didn't get on the team coach with the rest of the squad following the 1-0 defeat to the relegation candidates, and was instead given permission to go directly from the stadium to Barajas airport, where he boarded a private plane.

Bale, who's been heavily linked with a move away from the Spanish capital in the summer, endured a difficult night at the Estadio de Vallecas, and Zidane admits he's unsure over whether the 29-year old is still focused on playing for Los Blancos.

He told reporters after the game: "I do not know if he's focused on Madrid".

It's not the first time Bale has been left isolated from his team mates.

The former Spurs star made headlines back in February after he avoided a evening meal with team mates, prompting him to be described by Thibaut Courtois as the loner of the group.

When asked about the Welshman, Courtois said : "It is very hard to describe Gareth in one word.

"I would say he has so much talent, but that it is such a shame that so often that talent is blocked from shining."

This latest episode has been held up in some sections of the Spanish press as evidence Bale is unlikely to stay on at the Bernabeu this summer, despite being contracted at the club until 2022.

Manchester United have been repeatedly linked with making a move for Bale, with previous reports suggesting Real could be prepared to waive their £100 million asking price in favour of a £5 million loan move.
