Zinedine Zidane has added nothing to Real Madrid in his second spell, says former Spurs striker Mido

Former Tottenham striker Mido believes Zinedine Zidane has added nothing to Real Madrid in his second spell as coach at the Santiago Bernabeu.

With LaLiga currently suspended due to coronavirus, Los Blancos are two points behind Barcelona at the top of the table with 11 fixtures remaining, while their Champions League hopes are also in the balance after a 2-1 loss at home to Manchester City in the teams last-16 first leg.

"I like Real Madrid a lot," Mido told AS. "They are my favourite team in LaLiga."

But on the Frenchman's return, which has also seen Real claim the Spanish Supercopa but knocked out of the Copa del Rey in early February, the former Egyptian international said: "From my point of view, Zidane hasn't added anything to Madrid.

"There is a proverb which says: 'you don't marry the same woman twice'."

Zidane won nine trophies in his first tenure at the Bernabeu, including three successive Champions League titles between 2016 and 2018.
