Zimmer on when Thielen will return: ‘I’m not sure, honestly’

Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen was only able to last a quarter in Sunday’s game against the Chiefs.

Thielen went into the game listed as questionable after injuring his hamstring on a Week 7 touchdown catch against the Lions. He missed the team’s game in Week 8 against the Redskkins and the thought was that he’d be ready for the game against the Chiefs.

It was clear he wasn’t. Thielen pulled himself out of the game.

Will Thielen be ready to play against the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football?

Coach Mike Zimmer and the Vikings aren’t sure when Thielen will be back.

“I’m not sure, honestly,” Zimmer said Monday. “Whenever the doctors say he’s ready, then he’s ready.”

Obviously, the Vikings would love to have Thielen back on Sunday, and they’ll probably need him. But we saw how Dalvin Cook’s hamstring injury lingered last season for the Vikings. They want to avoid Thielen being in and out of the lineup for the rest of the year.
