Ziggy Ansah questionable for Sunday after suffering ankle injury

Seattle Seahawks defensive end Ziggy Ansah (ankle) is listed as questionable this week against the Baltimore Ravens.

“He’s questionable,” Carroll said on Friday. “He was going to try to get out there today. He couldn’t quite get out there today but, he did some stuff. We’re going to take him right up to game time.”

Ansah suffered an ankle injury in Week 6’s win over the Browns, getting tangled up and twisting it on the play where he forced and recovered a fumble.

Ansah did not participate on Wednesday or Thursday this week, but he was listed as a limited participant on Friday – providing a glimmer of hope that he will be able to suit up on Sunday.

Ansah’s season has not quite gone according to plan, as the veteran already missed the first two weeks of the season and saw his role diminished considerably in Week 6.

Jarran Reed’s return should allow Ansah and Jadeveon Clowney more room to get to the quarterback, but Ansah will need to prove he’s still an above-average pass rusher if he doesn’t want to cede playing time to Rasheem Green, Branden Jackson and L.J. Collier as the season goes on.

Ansah’s status will be known roughly 90 minutes before game time, which kicks off on Sunday at 1:25 p.m. PT.
