Ziggy Ansah has good chance to play Sunday vs. Cardinals

Seattle Seahawks defensive end Ziggy Ansah saw his first action of the regular season Sunday against the New Orleans Saints but he popped back on the injury report early in the week.

“He needed a couple days,” coach Pete Carroll told reporters after Friday’s walkthrough. “He had just a sore back from some stuff that cleared up today. He was fine today.”

Ansah sat out the offseason recovering from shoulder surgery and was slowly eased back into practice. It’s not unusual he would be feeling the impact of the game-day reps.

“Yeah, it could’ve been just from the workload,” Carroll explained. “Sure. It wasn’t an injury. He had some strain, a little strain or a spasm kind of thing that they worked out. He’s fine.”

Listed as questionable for Week 4, Carroll said Ansah “has a really good chance to play.”

Defensive lineman Quinton Jefferson is also listed as questionable against the Cardinals, possibly opening the door for rookie L.J. Collier, who was inactive for the New Orleans matchup.
