Ezekiel Ansah agrees to deal with Seahawks

Former Detroit Lions edge rusher Ziggy Ansah has a new home. Ansah has agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks.

Seattle prevailed over Buffalo in a battle to sign Ansah. The veteran was an unrestricted free agent after a disappointing end to his career in Detroit.

Ansah bagged 12 sacks in 2017, leading the Lions to use the franchise tag and commit $17.1 million to keep him in 2018. But a recurring shoulder injury limited him severely, causing him to miss nine full games and parts of others. He managed just four sacks, and shoulder injuries limited him to just two sacks in 13 games in 2016.

The Lions made no effort to try to bring back Ansah.
