Zendaya channels Cinderella on the Met Gala 2019’s pink carpet

Zendaya brought a touch of fairytale magic to the Met Gala as she paid homage to Disney princess Cinderella.

In a clever nod to this year's theme Camp: Notes on Fashion, the former Disney Channel star dressed in a real life replica of the cartoon princess's famous blue gown, designed by Tommy Hilfiger.

In keeping with the character's look, she wore her hair in a blonde updo, complete with a thick baby blue hair band.

The most magical moment of the night, however, came when her stylist Law Roach (dressed as Cinderella's fairy godmother) waved a 'magic wand,' prompting the gown to light up.

Fans couldn't get enough of the star's dramatic look, crowning her the "Queen" of this year's event.

"Zendaya is the Queen of the Met Gala every single year. That's it. That's the tweet," one Twitter user wrote.

"The Met Gala really is Zendaya's playground," another tweet read.

The Spider-Man actress even finished her pink carpet moment with another nod to Cinderella, leaving a single glass slipper on the stairs of the Met.

At last year's event, the star was praised for fully embracing the theme of Fashion and the Catholic Imagination as she arrived at the event dressed in a full suit of armour, inspired by Joan of Arc.

The Met Gala 2019 was co-chaired by Lady Gaga, Serena Williams, Harry Styles and Gucci's creative director Alessandro Michele.
