Zendaya and Tom Holland engagement rumours send Twitterati into a tizzy; see hilarious reactions

Zendaya and Tom Holland are reportedly engaged! At least that's what the viral Twitter rumours seem to suggest.

Fans of the 'Spider-Man' couple, went wild on social media reacting to the rumour that took over top trends. Fans extended their heartiest congratulations to the two, who have reportedly been an item since they starred together in the 2016 movie, 'Spider-Man: Homecoming', where Tom played Peter Parker and Zendaya played MJ.

"When Zendaya and Tom Holland get married he's gonna take her last name and become just Tom," a fan quipped in a tweet that has gone viral online.

"Tom is gonna be Mr. Zendaya now," replied one excited fan.

It's not unlikely given the pair have reportedly grown increasingly closer recently, with one source claiming they are getting "serious and permanent".

News of the engagement comes months after the couple reportedly moved in together in Tom's plush new London home. "They're both in settling-down mode and are absolutely planning for a real future together," an insider told Us Weekly.

The hunk in his interviews also made no secret about his plans to settle down and start a family.

While fans were celebrating the happy news, there were others who were sceptical about the rumours and said that they will wait for an official confirmation from the star couple. "Not that I believe this, but Tom and Zendaya are the types to get engaged, married, and not acknowledge anything until their 5-year anniversary," a fan wrote in the tweet.

Early this year, Tom announced he was taking a break from social media for the sake of his mental health. Addressing fans in an Instagram video, Tom said that he has also deleted Twitter from his phone after it became "detrimental to his mental state".

"I have taken a break from social media for my mental health because I find Instagram and Twitter to be overstimulating, to be overwhelming. I get caught up and I spiral when I read things about me online, and ultimately, it's very detrimental to my mental state, so I decided to take a step back and delete the app," he said.
