Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has agreed to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Turkey on Thursday.
This follows a demand from former U.S. President Donald Trump for immediate negotiations between Ukraine and Russia to end the ongoing war.
Trump's call for talks came in response to Putin's proposal for a meeting in Istanbul.
Zelensky confirmed his participation on social media, expressing hope for a lasting ceasefire and productive diplomacy.
Putin's proposal suggests direct talks aimed at achieving a durable peace, addressing the root causes of the conflict.
