Zdenek Zlamal hit by coin as Hearts vs Rangers Scottish Cup quarter-final marred by shameful scenes

Hearts goalkeeper Zdenek Zlamal was hit by a coin thrown from the Rangers support, as his side progressed to the Scottish Cup semi-final.

The Jambos took the lead in the second half thanks to Oliver Bozanic, with Steven Naismith missing the chance to make it two.

Rangers threw on Jermain Defoe and Ianis Hagi but couldn't find an equaliser, as Daniel Stendel 's men advanced to Hampden.

The second half was marred, however, by an incident which saw the Hearts goalkeeper struck by a coin.

With under 10 minutes remaining Zlamal was taking a goal kick when he was struck in the chest by an object that came from the Rangers support.

A second projectile narrowly missed in shameful scenes at Tynecastle.

The Czech goalkeeper picked up the coin and handed it to referee Steven McLean, who handed it to his fourth official.

Zlamal was unhurt in the incident, but it's the latest instance of objects being thrown from the crowd in Scottish football.
