Zazie Beetz, Laura Dern and Olivia Wilde talk non-toxic beauty for new True Botanicals campaign

As people have become more invested in their skincare routines, they've also started questioning what, exactly, they're slathering on their faces morning and evening.

Now, the popular natural beauty brand True Botanicals has launched a Truth Revealed campaign to try to educate people about the importance of using non-toxic, natural beauty products. The brand is working with a star-studded "Band of Activists," including Atlanta actress Zazie Beetz, Big Little Lies star Laura Dern and their longtime spokeswoman, Olivia Wilde.

The campaign is set to show people that skincare brands don't need to expose people to toxins - and open up conversation about what's really in beauty products. The actresses involved are all speaking out about why they've turned to natural skincare.

"The current environmental crisis has really made me engage more in products that are sustainable. By focusing on ethical production and natural ingredients, like those in the True Botanicals’ products that I use daily, I can feel assured that I’m choosing products that are safe for me, my loved ones and the earth," Zazie Beetz explained.

Beetz regularly posts no-makeup selfies on Instagram, where the actress and activist has 500,000 followers.

Her band of activists agrees wholeheartedly. “I think there’s still this perception, this misperception really, that if a product is truly natural, then it may not work. But what we're all learning is that the more we strip away and allow something that is truly pure to care for us, we find that it actually just does a better job," Laura Dern said.

And Olivia Wilde, who is the brand's spokesperson and regularly posts about them on her Instagram account, said she started thinking about going natural when she got pregnant.

She and Jason Sudeikis have two children, who she often posts no-makeup selfies with.

“Once you know that conventional products are laden with health-disrupting chemicals, you can’t unknow it. I, for one, didn’t realize just how unsafe and unregulated beauty products were until I was pregnant...I wish I had known sooner. And the fact is, the toxins are completely unnecessary," Olivia Wilde said, calling her skincare ritual "a slice of spa heaven."
