Zayn Malik has upset his loyal fan-base by posting a photo of himself smoking a cigarette on Instagram.
The monochrome image shows the former One Direction member staring into the camera and holding a rolled-up cigarette, as smoke drifts from his mouth.
The singer shared the photo with the 1.9million Instagram followers he has gathered, despite the fact his account only features 11 images.
The photograph appears to be Malik’s latest attempt at creating the persona of a serious artist with a bad-boy edge, as he has filled his Instagram with black and white images of him playing instruments, smoking and gesturing from a yacht deck.
