Zayn Malik & Louis Tomlinson’s Docuseries Reportedly Axed After An Alleged Physical Altercation

The highly anticipated Netflix road-trip docuseries starring One Direction‘s Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson has reportedly been scrapped following an alleged physical altercation between the two stars.

 

According to The US Sun, insiders have claimed that the former One Direction members got into a fist fight after Zayn made remarks about Louis’ mother, Johannah Deakin, who died of Leukaemia in 2016.

“The lads were filming on location. Zayn started acting up and was mouthing off,” a source claimed to the publication, before another said the alleged incident took place in Wyoming.

“It spiralled into a row, then Zayn made a remark about Louis’ mum Johannah. Louis was stunned and in shock. As he went to move, Zayn then attacked him.

“Zayn punched him straight in the face.”

Furthermore, the insider claimed that as a result of the incident, Louis was taken for medical treatment as he was “left with a concussion”.

“This happened outside in front of so many people. It was shocking,” the source added.

The US Sun says that it understands the incident took place six months ago and that the streaming giant officially axed the project after hopes of a reunion between the pair dimmed.

In October 2025, Netflix announced that the former bandmates would star in a three-part documentary, following them on a spontaneous road trip across America, complete with “reconnection, exploration and a lot of laughter,” per Variety.

The documentary was set to be directed by Nicola Marsh, who has previously worked on Hulu’s Child Star and Netflix’s Stay on Board: The Leo Baker Story.

While neither Zayn nor Louis have publicly commented on the project or its cancellation, Nicola shared an Instagram Story with a screenshot of The Sun‘s headline.

“And there goes the last year of work,” Nicole wrote.

News of the alleged altercation comes shortly after Zayn cancelled several appearances after he was rushed to hospital. The KONNAKOL singer didn’t disclose the reason why he was hospitalised.
