Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid are expecting their first child, they've confirmed.
And the former One Direction singer, 27, "couldn't be more thrilled" with the happy news, as it's claimed he always held out hope they'd get back together.
The couple have been on and off since 2015 and rekindled their relationship in December, with the news of their pregnancy coming out this week.
A source told US Weekly: "Zayn has always been so into Gigi and she's always been such a big part of his life.
"Even when there were times that they weren’t a couple, the love was still very much there."
The couple's relationship is now "solid" ahead of the baby's arrival, it's claimed.
The source added: "He was very hopeful that they would get back together."
Mirror Online has contacted Zayn's reps for comment.
Gigi, 25, and Zayn are currently staying at the Hadid family farm in Pennsylvania amid the coronavuris lockdown.
She is said to be twenty weeks along with the pregnancy.
Gigi's mum Yolanda Hadid confirmed the news after the rumours first came out.
"Still shocked our little secret got leaked to the press," she told told RTL Boulevard.
"Of course we are so excited. I'm excited to become a oma [grandmother] in September especially after I lost my mom so recently.
Gigi then confirmed the news herself in a video chat with US talk show host Jimmy Fallon.
"We're very excited and happy and grateful for everyone's well wishes and support," she gushed.
