Zayn Malik is thought to be seeking treatment from a top cardiologist after being rushed to hospital with a mystery illness.
The former One Direction star, 33, revealed he was in hospital last week for an undisclosed health issue and pulled out of a series of events promoting his new album KONNAKOL.
He shared a “heartbroken” message with fans at the time, alongside a photo of him in hospital.
Now, sources have claimed Malik is looking to get treatment from the “number one cardiologist in the world”.
The Dusk Till Dawn singer has also reportedly had to cancel an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon this week as he continues to recover.
“He's still working through his health issues,” the source told People.
The insider went on: “He was supposed to appear on Fallon but isn't able to due to doctor's recommendations.”
The Standard has contacted Malik’s representative for comment.
The reports come days after he shared a photo of himself lying in bed in a hospital gown, hooked up to various machines and monitors.
He wrote: “To my fans. Thank you to all of you for your love and support now and always – been a long week and am still unexpectedly recovering.
“Heartbroken that I can’t see you all this week, I wouldn’t be in the place I am today without you guys and am so thankful for your understanding.”
He thanked all the “incredible hospital staff” who had looked after him, including doctors, nurses and cardiologists.
Malik added: “You are all legends! Big big love.”
He is due to embark on a worldwide tour, which will see him perform in Manchester on May 12 before travelling to other UK cities and beyond.
Malik also hit the headlines last week over claims he punched his former One Direction bandmate Louis Tomlinson in the face while they were filming a three-part road trip in the US for Netflix in October.
He reportedly “attacked” Tomlinson and made a “derogatory” remark about Tomlinson’s mother Johannah Deakin, who died of leukaemia in 2016.
The alleged incident in Wyoming was reportedly captured on camera and could be “beyond damaging” if it was released.
“The lads were filming on location. Zayn started acting up and was mouthing off,” a source told The Sun.
"Louis was stunned and in shock. As he went to move, Zayn then attacked him. It spiralled into a row then Zayn made a remark about Louis’ mum Johannah.
“Zayn punched him straight in the face. Because he was wearing rings it cut Louis’ head."
Malik was reportedly pulled away and Tomlinson, who was allegedly left with a concussion, was taken for medical treatment.
The former friends have reportedly not spoken since and Netflix is thought to have axed the multi-million-pound project.
Two of Tomlinson’s five sisters, Phoebe and Lottie, have since unfollowed Malik on Instagram.
