Zara Tindall shares details of sweet relationship with Queen as she turns 40

Zara Tindall has shared details of her sweet relationship with the Queen as she turns 40 today (Saturday).

The Queen's granddaughter rarely offers glimpses into her relationship with Her Majesty, but revealed in an interview how she is usually always in her good books.

Zara said she often gets the "good look" from the Queen, as opposed to a sterner look reserved for other members of the royal family perhaps.

She said: "I always get the good look. We are okay, I think we are alright."

But Zara said as a child she may have got a firmer look from the Queen if she pushed her look too far, adding: "Probably when we were much younger, but not recently, definitely not."

And when Zara and husband Mike Tindall sadly suffered a miscarriage in 2016, they told how the Queen offered much-needed comfort and support.

Mike, former England rugby pro, said during the traditional Christmas Day Sandringham service that year, the Queen stayed with Zara and Mike for a private service.

He told the House of Rugby podcast in 2019: "Two years ago, she wasn't feeling very well and so she didn't go to church and we'd obviously been what we'd been through with our pregnancy that we lost, so we did our own little private one - just as a three."

One royal expert claims Zara and the Queen actually have a "tighter" relationship compared to other grandchildren.

Ingrid Seward, Editor-in-Chief of Majesty Magazine, told the Sun the Queen enjoys the company of Zara and Mike as they seem more "normal" than the Cambridges.

She said: "The Queen has always adored Zara and is so proud of her riding sucess.

"They have a lot in common as they talk horses and the Queen has invested in several horses for her."

The royal author even went as far to say the Monarch may even prefer the Tindalls as they are generally more "care-free" and distanced from royal dramas.

Zara and the Queen's relationship could now grow even stronger after Meghan and Harry stepped down as senior royals.

Since the loss of Prince Philip, wider members of the royal family are said to be stepping up when it comes to taking on more responsibilities and rallying around the Queen.
