Zara Tindall sends her car hurtling off the track on Top Gear

Racing royal Zara Tindall puts the wind up hubby Mike on Top Gear on Sunday night as she sends their car hurtling off a track in a high-speed spin.

The Queen’s grand-daughter and Mike are in a Toyota GT86 in a race against the clock.

Fearing the car could flip, Mike yells “no lifting, no lifting”.

The Toyota rounds a corner and spins off the racetrack on to the grass.

Laughing Zara – the first royal to appear on the car show – says: “That was your ‘no lifting’!”

The Tindalls go head-to-head in the Reasonably Fast Car seg-ment.

Zara is seen hands to her mouth as footage is played back.

Equestrian rider Zara, who won silver at the 2012 London Olympics, hopes to have beaten racing jockey Frankie Dettori on the leaderboard.

He scored 1:47.2 when he appeared in 2017.

Mum-of-two Zara, 38, and ex-rugby star Mike, 40, also take part in a fast and furious Width Restrictor Challenge which sees them driving between bollards at speed with an inch gap on either side of the car.

Hosts Andrew Flintoff and Paddy McGuinness are on board as passengers.

Zara and Mike say they are not competitive over who drives when they are out together.

But Mike jokes: “I’ll generally drive... just because she likes a drink!”

Zara is used to being behind the wheel though and has an HGV licence so she can drive horse trucks to events.

She says: “We need a big vehicle – I love it.”
